An Enchanting Afternoon: Peter and the Wolf

An Enchanting Afternoon: Peter and the Wolf

Here’s a family concert with a real twist! An Enchanting Afternoon: Peter and the Wolf opens with the World Premiere of The Forested City by Algonquin-Anishinaabe storyteller and composer Spy Dénommé-Welch. Inspired by the natural environment around London, he uses music imagery to highlight three characters: The Little Brown Bat, The Wild Turkey and The Blue Heron. The second work on the program, Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf, has long been known as a terrific introduction to the orchestra that enchants audiences, no matter what their age. Enjoy London Symphonia musicians as they portray the different characters and animals in the story. Stratford actor Deborah Hay, who loves performing in concerts for young people joins forces with London Symphonia to create an engaging performance that will spark everyone’s imaginations – whether you are young or young at heart.
Recorded live at Metropolitan United, London, Ontario, March 8, 2026.
